Rs 250-cr convention centre to boost B'lore image

In keeping with its reputation of being the IT capital of the country, Bangalore will soon have a world class International Convention Centre near Bangalore International Airport. The state Cabinet on Thursday approved the setting up of the centre, which would come up in a 35 acre plot at the cost of Rs 250 crore

The centre was likely to be the largest one in South India and it would be mainly used to host international conferences and industrial events. The convention centre will come up in 18 months and will have a convention hall with a seating capacity for 6000 people and 20 small conference halls that can accommodate 50200 people. Also, there will be an exhibition centre
