Bengaluru airport announces commencement of terminal expansion

INDIA. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has started work on the expansion of Terminal 1 at Bengaluru International Airport. As reported the move will double the existing terminal area of 70,000sq m, once completed in around 18 months.

This development comes after the airport completed three years of operations. In that time it has posted a passenger growth rate of +18% per annum, the highest in the country

BIAL said: “The design of the expanded terminal will sport an entirely enhanced and modern design elevation. The enhanced terminal is aimed at significantly improving passenger experience, making access to seating, amenities and commercial facilities easier and better.”
